The city between worlds. Enshrouded in mist and filled with daydreams, while the remainder of humanity struggles to survive inside its walls. The things outside, we're taught the fear them, taught to never leave the walls of the city. But, some of us, we want to leave, want to know what it's like outside the walls of this city. ' You think that's all we Ulothian do, kill people? I will tell you this, I, myself only kill who I must to continue my way of living. No one more," Aakav hissed, moving in front of the door. His pale eyes showed a deep black pupil, making him all the more frightening. ' You may not levae, not only because you are injured, but you'll simply have to get used to my company, ' he added, remaining standing as he was.
"Normal cannot have a true definition, as it changes according to each induvidual according to his or her views and opinions." The words popped out of Eshana's mouth before she could stop them. "I.. I mean that... by 'normal', I mean... sane. Um.. Not... killing.. people?"
She was bumbling and confused, she knew it, but she would not back down.
' Almost normal? ' Aakav laughed, corssing his arms and leaning against the door. He knew very well what the fae were taught, about him, about his species. But, when Eshana mentioned normal, of all things, he paused. He was one of the more... normal as she would say, of his kind, but that still surprised him. ' Define normal... ' he asked, smiling and rolling his eyes. But this time, his smile was not a mocking one, it was kinder, less harsh and much less more.... intrested. Oh no, he would not let Eshana leave, not right now, not until he was for sure how her mind worked. The better you know a person, the better you know how they would react if they were an enemy, he always thought.
She whirled around, spiteful hate in her eyes. "Go away." Aakav smiled slightly. "No. Once you tell me and I have a chance to reply, you may leave. Not before that." Eshana's eyes narrowed, and she moved closer inside as her brain whirled for an answer. Why did she hate Ulothian? The obvious answer came to mind immediately. They were monsters, fallen from the grace of the High Ones. That was true enough, she thought, but- Why was her mind rejecting this? It was what she had been taught as a child, what she had recited in church since the time she could talk. But- This one seemed- almost human. Almost normal. Sane, even. Except for being an Ulothian.
She hesitated. "I-" "Well?" She gave an angry, frustrated sigh, and ran through the thoughts in her head one last time. "It's what I've been taught from childhood. It's normal, see? Maybe I'm an oddball, but at least I know that. But-" "But what?" "But you seem to be- to be almost normal. That's all."
Aakav was used with permission from the creator, and not godmoded.
Aakav nearly smiled because of Eshana's frustration. He had always enjoyed his not showing much emotion. And then realization hit him. They were related. That's why she was so frustrated. She hates his species. ' So, why do you hate Ulothain? ' he asked, standing and walking closer to Eshana. He was pushing her buttons, he knew, but that was what he did best. He shoved his hands in his pockets and leaned againstt he frame, his eyes serious for once.
Eshana took a deep, shuddering breath. "My name is Eshana Vairein. Silten Vairein was my father." She turned away, hiding the hot, angry tears running down her face. "If that is all you wish to know, I will be leaving now." She walked slowly towards the open doorway, clearly upset.
Aakav laughed. ' D'you think I'd belive a story like that, considering your reaction? ' Aakav was no stupid man, and he could sense emotions well. ' Now that I know it means something that you know this, mind if I asking your name and why? ' he demanded, crossing his arms and smirking. She may have been of the more... normal species, but he knew there was some connection. After all, he had more than the senses of a normal creature.
"Gods..." This word was breathed slowly out, an expression of pure, terrifying horror. She tried to stand, tried to run away, to do anything besides sit here with this monster. Her muscles would not cooperate, and eventually she gave up. Slowly, she calmed herself, taking deep, slow breaths and getting her heartrate back to normal. Her thoughts came together slowly, as she sat there. Yes, he could be lying. Yes, he could be truthful. Whichever one, she must not let it get a hold on her, must not let it disturb her. She set to work putting it aside, putting it out of her mind. He was lying, she told herself. Trying to rile her up. Stalling for time. She calmed herself this way, lying to herself smoothly, changing her mindset. Finally she stood up. "I heard the name somewhere. That's all." it was a horrible explaniation, she knew, but she couldn't think of one better, so it would have to do.

-Description [At least five sentances]; Kyra has a slim, catlike figure, with athletic limbs and broad shoulders. She's sexy, in the way that if you mess with her, expect a fight. She has slightly angled eyes and a round face, with full lips, and a slender neck. Her hair is long, and bushy, and is usually left down, unless she's fighting, which she does quite often. Her arms are muscular, slightly more than a normal teen's.
Kyra often wears a long-sleeved, light brown shirt, coming just above her naval. She's cut the sleeves to halfway down her upper arm, and her lower arms often have various bracelets, sweatbands covering them. Her jeans are a faded dark green color, with buttoning back pockets. The jeans are flared, and she wears combat boots under the flare.
-History [At least ten sentances]; Seventeen years. It's a long time to be alone, unwanted. But, that's how my life's been, livin' off who I can, and whatever I can steal. My parents? Hah. Dumped me off at some orphanage. Never even wanted me. Sometimes I think about 'em, and every time I end up laughin', laughin' at how I'd love to get my hands on 'em, show 'em what they did t'me. A few years back, maybe four, I got out, escaped, as I call it. Theey need to learn they can't hold Kyra forever. But, I got into a fight, an', well, I hate to say it, but I was beat.
Beaten, raped, and left for dead.
I ended up being rescued, healed up by a guy who called 'imself Aaakav. He killed the bastards that caused my to go through all this, and took me in, taught me the trade. Gave me a good cut of the cash he stole too. Well, because he was givin' me stolen money, and I knew it was stolen, both of us got carted off to some slam. That, and we'd both killed a few people, tryin' to get to this place I'd heard of, somewhere, called Easira.
And both of us escaped.
Well, Aakav and I had gotten to well, love each other, and after he abandoned me, I thought I couldn't go on, losing the guy I called my older brother. We were family, and one night, he just up an' left. I, of course, got sent to another orphanage, and got 'adopted'. And then I, somehow, ended up here, in Easira.
Maybe I'll escape again...
-Other; Kyra is an experienced liar, doing so to get what she wants. She's a master in using her feminine wiles, to lure the enemy just that much closer, for her to make her strike. She is slightly darker than most girls, especially the ones that are seventeen. Yet, Kyra obviously isn't most girls.
Kyra's greatest fear is abandonment, and when she feels abandoned, it causes her to make hasty decisions, that are usually out of her nature. However, she hates to show emotion, and usually doesn't give any hint of feeling around all those but one. The man that had rescued her five years ago.
Also, Kyra has a certain power. Mess with her, and you'll go up in flames, if she doesn't cut you first.

-Description: Haunt-thin and bone-pale, with hair the colour of flame, Sarah is one of the rare fae-touched that wander the crumbling sidewalks of Easira. She is not cursed, but she carries a palapital aura that is from a eight-year stint in Lei'thania. She prefers thick sweaters and long skirts, but will on occasion dress up a little. She has very pale-blue eyes, like a blind person (but she can see). Living in Faerieland changes a person.
-History: Sarah was born in America, from a state she no longer remembers. At the age of nineteen, she wandered into Faerieland, and fell into the possesion of a powerful fae lord. In spite of all their differences, she grew to love him, and when she became pregnant, she was overjoyed. He was not. She was sent out in disgrace, with little more than a set of clothes and some pennies to her name. She ended up in Easira, and found a job in an old clothing shop. A month later, her son was born, and she took leave from her job to look after him. There were kind people (though they were scarce), and they looked after him when she returned to work. Two months later, her baby died of a summer fever. She was devastated. Now she wanders the streets of Easira, looking for a way to leave and live the life she left behind eight years ago.
-Other:This is wierd, because these are basically my notes/commentary/thoughts about Sarah. So pay no heed, it's just my rambling. Sarah sort of evolved over a entire week, and her basis was... sort of angsty. I actually don't really know where she came from, but she had this cool dress and was all creepy and stuff. I like her a lot more now, and she's evolved into as real a person as I could wish. (considering I made her up in the span of a very rainy and boring week in which I sat around inside all the time.) She's changed from someone who was angsty and ghostly and rather creepy into someone who's gone through a lot of pain and trauma, but when it all comes down, she just wants to get over the bad things and get on with her life. So there's my crazy notes on her. Fun, huh?
